This is the third blog in a series of 5 where we examine S.T.E.P.P in greater detail and look at how it can help coaches.

This is the second step in the S.T.E.P.P - football coaching made easy - process of improving coaching and making sessions more enjoyable and suitable for your players.

We all see lots of coaching sessions, practices and drills. But how can we apply them when we don't have the right number of players shown in the practice, or the players at our disposal are too young or perhaps don't have the ability to perform the practice as shown.

PURPOSE

PURPOSE

Try this fun, dynamic and exciting game related finishing game. The players will really have to be on their toes and alert. Provide lots of team challenges within the practice, such as the first team to score 5 goals wins.

The following article demonstrates coaching defensive tactics that could be employed by a team that are winning a match and want to get players behind the ball and force the opposition to play through them. Or by a team that are facing opposition who are better than they are. They are not the only defensive tactics that can be used by a team. A team would generally use more than one defensive tactic.
