Is now the right time to introduce technology to help referees in top flight football?
In a past blog I argued that using technology in football - such as the TV official would be wrong. That football in this country sells and is successful around the World because it is a fast moving, dynamic, exciting game. That using technology would slow the game down and take away a huge amount of this controversy. I also argued that football relies on this controversy, in the vast majority of cases created by the officials, to sell the game.

Time to introduce a Green card in football?
The Premier League has sold television rights to its games for a record £5.136bn, 71% above the previous deal. Sky paid £4.2bn for five of the seven TV packages while rival BT paid £960m for the other two in the record TV rights auction. The deal will run for three years from 2016.

Handball?? Penalty – Time to sort this out
We all know that referees and their assistants have an incredibly difficult job. Things happen so quickly, they don't always have a clear view of what happens. Everyone appeals. But, there has to be a much clearer mandate from the footballing authorities on what is hand ball in the penalty area.

We have just started a FA Level 2 Coaching Qualification at the Kent FA headquarters at the Cobdown Sports and Social Club, Ditton, Kent. There are 25 candidates on the course, coming from different backgrounds, of different ages and with varied coaching experience.

The famous Cruyff turn
Johan Cruyff was an exceptionally skilful and very intelligent football player. In the 1974 World Cup held in West Germany, Cruyff was captain of the Dutch team that went onto to get beaten 2 - 1 by the hosts in the final.
