Football Documentary – Sold for a Fiver Part 3
Part 3 of the “fly on the wall” Football Documentary about Leyton Orient in the 1994 – 95 season
The third part of five of the documentary shows the post match dressing room Managers team talk after the game against local rivals Brentford. After John’s half time rant and quite unbelievable abuse of the players, he now has to try and motivate them for the games ahead.
Chris Turner and John also have a formal meeting with the Board of Directors where they have to present their views on the way the club is progression, or not as the case may be. The Directors don’t look hugely impressed with what is said and there are lots of glum faces and head scratching involved from all round the table. The club desperately needs a buyer or to generate cash through transfer funds, but they don’t really have anyone to sell.
If all these playing and financial troubles aren’t enough, Chris and John also have to deal with a major transport problem for the next game and the fact the club may be unable to fulfill their fixtures due to their dire financial troubles.
In one interview, John despite all of his inexperience and frustrations, displays remarkable and admirable honesty about his and the clubs situation.
