Teams progress in the FA People’s Cup
The FA People’s Cup semi-finals take place over the weekend of 27/28 February across eight regional venues. The first round saw 35,000 participants turn out for teams at 120 venues dotted around the country.
The BBC captured many of the inspiring stories that emerged throughout the weekend and highlights of the action are now available on iplayer here.
These included the profile of a team made up of African students in Portsmouth, a Shakespearean rapper who helped turn his life around through football, how Jan found Walking Football after a bad injury and Marcus, who gathered a team together at the very last minute.
The triumphant teams now move on to regional semis in Manchester, Hull, Bristol, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Nottingham, Luton and London.
The winning teams will then compete in the finals as part of Sport Relief weekend on March 20, with the hope of winning tickets to The Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley.
